Album: Devon Sproule, I Love You, Go Easy (Tin Angel)

The exaggeratedly charming Sproule temporarily detaches from hubby Paul Curreri to work with a Canadian trio, the Silt, and producer Sandro Perri.
The result? A spacious still-lifey art-pop which conveys her a further step from her Americana origins. She has a loopy, Judee Sill-ish voice and a passionate interest in the details of life. She's good when not covering Mary Margaret O'Hara. But you'll need to hear through the still-life mannerisms to get to the good stuff. It's there.
