Personal Finance: Loose Change
TWO MONEY websites went live this week, a third was upgraded and a money TV channel announced its launch date.
n One of the new sites, ftyourmoney.com, offers advice on all aspects of personal finance. Subjects are broken up under headings such as "Your Life" which deals with homebuying, education and living together. In the "Your Opportunities" section, you can learn about saving, creating wealth, finding an adviser and tax.
n Going live today is moneysupermarket.com, which gives free details on 4,000 mortgages, 400 credit cards and 400 personal loans. It provides access to exclusive deals with some of the top ten lenders, and online applications for 35 mortgage lenders and six credit card providers.
n Hill Samuel Asset Management has revamped its website www.hillsamuel.co.uk. The site offers fund data and includes a "virtual" portfolio calculator which will work out the value of your investments.
n Simply Money, the UK's first personal finance television channel, will start broadcasting on Sky Digital from 24 January. The channel will cover investments, pensions, savings and product launches. Simply Money already has an interactive website on www.simply money.net, which contains details of the TV launch.
