PAUL McCann says that "no one would seriously consider trying to revive Miss World in the Nineties" (report, 28 February).

Miss World is now arguably the most-watched annual television show in the world, with more than 2 billion viewers in over 150 countries. In this country, Sky believe that there is life in Miss World, for they televise it. We are alive and kicking, and if British terrestrial television cares to show Miss World on television and it doesn't get top rating of the night, we will donate pounds 25,000 to the Variety Club children's charity.
