Roof collapses as Tucson firefighters battle building blaze

This is the moment firefighters in Tucson, Arizona, narrowly avoided injury when the roof of an abandoned building collapsed during a fire.

Footage from the scene shows thick smoke rising moments before the structure gave way, scattering debris and knocking over a bystander nearby.

Crews had been responding to a blaze at a convenience store on East 22nd Street on Friday (23 May), when the roof caved in, forcing a rapid switch to defensive tactics. No injuries were reported.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
